Pawnee Pioneer Landscape Mural

Sisters Chelsea & Hannah Gilmore, were awarded the Colorado Creative Corps ARP Grant to bring a 2,000+ square foot public mural to life in a rural community along the Pawnee Pioneer Trails Scenic and Historic Byway,

This grant-funded project brings awareness and access to arts and culture, while creating a sense of identity and pride for communities living along the Byway. Located at Western Sugar, the sugar beet factory marking the entrance to Fort Morgan, the mural represents scenic motifs that convey a sense of belonging by showcasing regional agriculture, wildlife, and the South Platte River. This project is in partnership with Downtown Colorado Inc.Morgan County Economic Development Corporation, and other local nonprofits.

This is part of multi-year project to integrate art into rural landscapes and communities along the Scenic Byway and beyond.
